The Lord of Everything

As I pondered for my first article for this blog, all I had to do was look at the above picture. It reminded me of the song written by Ralph Carmichael; “He is Everything to Me”.
“In the stars His handiwork I see”. For me, I remember the day I captured this picture in the Philippines. I saw The Lord’s handiwork in the clouds. A sight we often take for granted or we are completely oblivious to.

The Apostle Paul in the New Testament book of Acts, stood in the midst of Mars hill (Areopagus) and proclaimed to the people of Athens, “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”(Acts17:24-30 KJV)
Not only are we reminded of the presence of the Lord but also of His greatness. We stand before him in awe. Recognizing His greatness and supreme Lordship, one would also be lead to realize how vital He is to us and how we have fallen short in our fellowship with Him.
Isaiah upon seeing the Lord (Isaiah6:5) declared “5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
Paul reminds us in Acts 17:30 that all men need to repent because there will be a time of judgement.
Isaiah reveals after his confession of unclean lips (Isaiah6:6-7 KJV); 6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
These verses in Isaiah have remained etched in my mind.
Isaiah goes on to say “8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Repentance and being cleansed of sin is definitely needed in preparation for judgement but also to tell others; to see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, convert and be healed.
